NHL Announces Official Change to Canadiens’ Second Goal Against Lightning

The National Hockey League indeed made an announcement regarding the Montreal Canadiens’ second goal last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This is always interesting to know, especially for those who follow stats or participate in hockey pools.

Regarding the second goal scored by the Canadiens last night, the NHL confirmed that the goal was officially credited to Christian Dvorak and not to Kaiden Guhle (as was initially recorded on the official scoresheet).

Additionally, an assist was officially awarded to newcomer Alexandre Carrier, who now has 4 points in 5 games since being acquired from the Nashville Predators.

To rewatch the goal in question:

What a great acquisition by Kent Hughes, Alexandre Carrier! Former Sens GM Pierre Dorion even called it a home run trade by Hughes.

Are the Canadiens back in the playoff mix?

With two victories in Florida, against the Panthers and the Lightning, Martin St. Louis’ squad is now 5 points behind the Ottawa Senators and the last playoff spot.

The road is still long, but what we’ve seen in recent games is very reassuring.

Do you think the Canadiens can surprise and really be in the mix this season after all?

We’ve seen the impact Alexandre Carrier’s acquisition has had.. Could this inspire Kent Hughes to make another similar trade to help the team this season?
