Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis takes indefinite leave for family reasons | AP News

We just witnessed a colorful moment on BPM Sports regarding Montreal Canadiens’ head coach, Martin St-Louis.

A fun moment, brought to you by Gilbert Delorme.

Gilbert Delorme loses patience with Martin St-Louis and his system

In the last few minutes, while reflecting on the Canadiens’ humiliating loss last night to the New York Rangers, the former Canadiens player shared his unfiltered thoughts.

Here’s an excerpt of what he had to say:

«At some point, the honeymoon is over. We’re playing a [expletive] man-to-man defense, and it’s worth [expletive]! The Canadiens are not built for that. He [Martin St-Louis] talks about picks, and at one point, I think it was Panarin in the third period, he’s 1-on-3, and the three Canadiens players looked blind, like they had white canes… [Expletive] playing man-to-man, but it’s driving me…

I mean, it’s basic [expletive]!»

Do you agree with him?

Do you believe there’s a fundamental problem with Martin St-Louis’ system?

We shouldn’t forget that, like his team, St-Louis is still relatively inexperienced and is learning and gaining experience as well.

If his system isn’t working, I imagine he’ll change it eventually, especially if games like last night’s start piling up.

Expectations were higher this season, especially after acquiring forward Patrik Laine, but clearly, they will need to be reassessed.

After another crushing loss yesterday, the Montreal Canadiens are now 2-4-1, sitting dead last in the Atlantic.

The injuries are piling up and their playoffs hope are quickly fading away.
