It’s also not right for the up-and-coming QBs, like Stroud.

Chiefs’ number 15 has been consistently playing ‘great’ plays for six years now. Keyword: consistently. What the analysts, scouts, and players forget is that by comparing they are putting pressure on QBs such as Stroud, who are still finding their footing in the NFL. Let’s get one thing straight. CJ is good. Even Patrick Mahomes couldn’t ignore Stroud’s potential, praising the 22-year-old on Fox Sports’ First Things First as a “phenomenal player” who’s already making waves in the league. So why force the comparison? Stroud’s rookie stats speak for themselves—4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and the league’s lowest interception rate at 1.0%. Impressive for a rookie, right?

Yet, comparing that to Mahomes’ mind-blowing 2018 season—5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions—feels a bit unfair. Why? Because that was alien stuff.
