Novak Djokovic recently showcased his competitive spirit while doing the racquet grip challenge and outdid Grigor Dimitrov. However, the Serb couldn’t surpass Mirra Andreeva

Djokovic is set to commence his 2025 by competing at the Brisbane International, and his first match is scheduled to be held on December 30 against Rinky Hijikata. Just a few days before this, the player participated in the racket grip challenge in Brisbane, where he perfectly wrapped the grip around the racket in just 9.8s and showed off his competitive spirit by mocking Grigor Dimitrov.

He was in the second position of this challenge, as the first was taken by Mira Andreeva, who wrapped the grip in just seven seconds. Following them was Dimitrov in third place. After Djokovic was done with the challenge, he asked Grigor to put his name on the board.

The Bulgarian tennis player added the sticker to the board, and after looking at the board, the two lauded Andreeva, saying:

“She beat us all? She beat us all. Okay, this is interesting. The youth beat us. They are faster and stronger.”

Novak Djokovic opened up about playing with Nick Kyrgios at the Brisbane International

Along with the singles match, Novak Djokovic is also scheduled to team up with Nick Kyrgios for playing doubles at the Brisbane International. During his press conference ahead of the tournament, the Serb opened up about competing at the tournament and also made his feelings known about teaming up with Nick Kyrgios in the doubles. He said that it would be fun and exciting as they have never paired up before

“It’s great to be back. I haven’t played in Brisbane since ATP Cup back in 2020, so it’s exciting, and I’m looking forward to compete,” said Novak Djokovic.

When asked about playing with the Aussie, Djokovic added:

“Yeah, that’s going to be fun. We’ve never teamed up, so let’s see. You know, we texted about it. We spoke earlier in Wimbledon about playing together when he’s back on tour, so get the first chance right away in the first week of the season, so should be fun.”

Novak Djokovic has won a total of 24 Grand Slam titles in his career.
