Post Malone & Blake Shelton’s ‘Pour Me A Drink’ Earns Second Week Atop Country Airplay Chart
Post Malone released “Pour Me a Drink,” his collaboration with Blake Shelton as the second single from his debut country album on June 21. The track was an instant hit with fans of both artists. So far, it has garnered more than 120 million streams on Spotify alone. Now, it holds the distinction of being a multi-week No. 1 for both Malone and Shelton.
With the chart dated October 12, Malone and Shelton’s “Pour Me a Drink” enters its second week atop the publication’s Country Airplay chart. So far the track has spent a total of 16 weeks on the survey. This makes the second single from F-1 Trillion to reach the top of the survey. The album’s lead single “I Had Some Help” featured Morgan Wallen. It found the top spot after just seven weeks.
This is not the first chart on which Malone and Shelton have found major success. In July, “Pour Me a Drink” went to the top of the newly formed UK Country Airplay chart. That success also came after “I Had Some Help” peaked at the top of the chart.
Blake Shelton on Post Malone’s Country Cred
Last month, Blake Shelton appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. While there, he discussed his career, hunting, his love of football, and much more. Additionally, he gave his honest opinion on Post Malone’s place as a country artist.
“I think the reason it’s working so well with Post is it’s not something that he’s just trying, like a one-off thing,” Shelton said of Malone’s success in the genre. “He’s so knowledgeable about country music and the writers and the musicians,” he added. “The first time I got a chance to sit and talk to him just about country music, I was blown away.”
Shelton went on to say that he learned some things from Malone. “He was telling me stuff I didn’t know and he’s fans of musicians that he’s introducing me to that are old school,” the “Austin” singer revealed. Then, he summed up Posty’s future in country music. “I feel like Post is probably here to stay,” he predicted.
