Garth Brooks Takes Major Setback In S****l Assault Allegations Lawsuit
Garth Brooks is currently under fire after a sexual assault lawsuit was filed against him in October by a woman she used to work with, naming the country singer in the suit. He would then file a motion to dismiss, defending himself against the accusations. However, a judge has now denied Brook’s motion to dismiss.
Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, detail that U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald denied Brook’s request based upon the fact that there is an “original action” open in another state. “The Court determines the most appropriate course of action is to allow the Mississippi court to adjudicate Plaintiff’s equitable arguments in the first instance,” the judge’s ruling reads.
Brooks filed a complaint in September in Mississippi in the middle of settlement negotiations with “Jane Doe,” the accuser. By doing this, he tried to prevent the accuser’s claims from becoming public. Following his suit, Doe then sued Brooks in California, naming him in the suit. Then, Brooks amended his Mississippi suit, naming the accuser in it. Finally, he would submit a motion to dismiss in November after moving the case to a federal court.
S**ual Assault Allegations
Doe accused Garth Brooks of sexual assault and battery, stating that the singer raped her in 2019. The alleged rape took place during a trip to Los Angeles. “After they arrived, suddenly Brooks appeared in the doorway to the bedroom, completely naked,” Doe’s complaint reads. “He stood there and flexed his muscles. Ms. Roe immediately had a sick feeling in her stomach, knowing she was trapped in the room alone with Brooks, with no one to help and far away from Nashville.”
Brooks would address the allegations and defend himself against his accuser. “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” Brooks said in a statement. “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of—ugly acts no human should ever do to another.”
