Now that the New York Jets have decided to fire Robert Saleh just five games into the season, many have been rewinding and looking at some signs that this was on the way. One major headline was the drama between Saleh and Aaron Rodgers before the season.

Of course, June now feels like such a long time ago, but from June 11-12, Rodgers missed the Jet’s mandatory two-day minicamp because he had a pre-planned trip to go to Egypt with friends.

However, Rodgers insisted that the relationship between him and Saleh was still “Great.

“Robert and I are great,” he said. “We had great conversations throughout the offseason, had a fun one last night in his office till later on. So, it is what it is. I’m an adult. I knew what I was getting into.

Now, though, reports indicate that this incident was the beginning of the end regarding the connection between the head coach and quarterback.

WFAN revealed that Rodgers and Saleh had a heated argument after a postgame press conference, where Rodgers wouldn’t even look at his coach.

If all of that is true, then it becomes hard to believe that Rodgers was not involved at all in the decision to fire Saleh.

Aaron Rodgers Denied Being Behind the Firing

However, Rodgers recently deflected all suspicion from people thinking he had anything to do with Saleh getting fired.

“As far as any of the ridiculous allegations out there, I’m not gonna spend more than one sentence in response to it,” Rodgers said on the “Pat McAfee Show.” “And that is that I resent any of those accusations because they are patently false. It’s interesting the amount of power that people think that I have, which I don’t. I love Robert.”

Of course, this feels like a situation that has barely scratched the surface of what happened.
