It hasn’t been the best year for Tiger Woods! Any guesses why?
Well, the 15-time major champ, on the one hand, had to undergo back surgery for the spasms he was experiencing. On the other hand, his brand, Sun Day Red, was at the end of constant criticism owing to its overpriced nature and subpar quality. Moreover, the athlete’s brand is also facing a lawsuit over its logo from Tigeraire. But hey Woods fans, do not worry! The 48-year-old and his clothing brand finally seem to have found their moment.
A series of pictures of the Hall of Famer in the Sun Day Red sportswear and cap was shared on the brand’s official Instagram handle. Interestingly, it showcased a post-surgery and in-recovery Woods training his body in the gym while sporting his brand’s products. “It’s not about the talent you have,” wrote the handle. “It’s about how much effort you put in.” If there is someone who knows about putting in effort, it’s Tiger Woods.
Even after facing so much criticism from the golf community for the performances he has had on the greens this year (WD, finishing last at Augusta, and 3 missed cuts at other majors), he is far from hanging his clubs. Even Scottish golfer, Colin Montgomerie and him got into a war of words over the former saying that now would be the good time for the latter to retire.
In September, Woods announced the details regarding the recent procedure performed by Dr. Sheeraz Qureshi. He underwent micro-decompression surgery on his lumbar spine owing to a nerve impingement of his lower back. Still unsure of his comeback on the greens, Woods now seems to be doing so much better, recent pictures are proof.
Well, naturally it doesn’t take much to put together how much the fans must have liked seeing the golfer in recovery while donning some stylish sportswear to work out.
Tiger Woods and Sun Day Red finally see some light
Remember the 2024 U.S. Open? Back then, Tiger Woods had missed the cut, following which he divulged his plans for the rest of the season. “Even if I win the British Open, I don’t think I’ll be in the Playoffs,” said the pro. “Just one more event, and then I’ll come back whenever I come back.” The athlete was then alluding to the Open Championship the next month. Now, the golfer has undergone surgery in his off-season. A fan couldn’t help but urge the athlete to make a comeback as they commented, “One more run, big cat.”
The golfer’s procedure had gone smoothly. Don’t take our word for it, for even Tiger Woods said the same. “The surgery went smoothly,” stated the golfer, “And I’m hopeful this will help alleviate the back spasms and pain I was experiencing throughout most of the 2024 season.” Adding on, the golfer exuded hope for a better comeback as he said, “I look forward to tackling this rehab and preparing myself to get back to normal life activities, including golf.” A couple of followers, after witnessing the athlete exercising, were very happy with his situation. They went ahead to respond, “My goat,” and “Tiger—Relentless!!”
There has been constant criticism of the Sun Day Red products being overpriced ever since its launch this year. One polo of the Jupiter collection is marked at $120, while a ball marker costs $50. This is much less than TaylorMade or Nike’s products. An enthusiast couldn’t help but allude to the same while posing his curious question, “Why’s your hoodie $135 when it’s 70% cotton and 30% polyester?” But despite the flak he and his brand received, many in the community were eager for the new line of products to drop. A fan had asked, “When are the cleats dropping?”
Anyhow, the golfer sure does seem good for a person who is in recovery. If all goes well, then you can very well witness the golfer tee it up at the 2024 PNC Championship, the Hero World Challenge, or maybe even both! Fingers crossed!
