Jimin equals Harry Styles’ record
Jimin makes fans proud with new achievements in his career.
Recently, Jimin’s song WHO has officially reached 1 billion streams on Spotify – the online music service with the largest number of users in the world today. It is known that WHO is the title song of Jimin’s second studio album in his solo career called MUSE, whose official MV was released last July.
This news made Jimin fans extremely happy as this is the first song in the album MUSE but the second song in the male singer’s solo career to reach the billion-stream mark on Spotify, after Like Crazy.
Notably, WHO’s new achievement has helped Jimin equal Harry Styles’ record to become one of the two solo songs by male artists to reach 1 billion streams fastest in Spotify history. Previously, male singer Harry Styles set this record with the hit As It Was.
According to data released by Chart Data, both Jimin and Harry Styles’ songs reached this milestone less than 118 days after their release.
WHO and the album MUSE are both music products that Jimin prepared before his military enlistment at the end of 2023. Therefore, after their debut, the male singer’s solo products were not promoted much both domestically and internationally. However, both the second studio album and the title single helped Jimin “pocket” extremely impressive achievements.
Not long ago, Jimin’s fans were even more “proud” of the male singer when the song WHO officially sold more than 1 million copies in the US market. This number helped Jimin qualify for Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Accordingly, Jimin’s WHO achieved this great achievement in just 74 days, setting a record as the fastest solo song by a K-pop solo artist in history to achieve this milestone, officially breaking the previous record of his younger brother Jungkook with Standing Next To You (143 days). Notably, this is also the song by an Asian artist to achieve this achievement the fastest in 2024.
