San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason suffered a shoulder injury against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
This was terrible news for sports bettors across the country.
Mason was one of the most bet player props of the night, with a ton of money placed on him to go over his yardage, whether it was between 80 to 85 yards.
Things were looking good, as he had 65 rushing yards with nine minutes to go in the first half.
However, Jordan Mason then suffered an injury.
To make matters worse, fans would spot the dynamic running back on the sidelines with his helmet on, which looked as if he was ready to go.
The former undrafted free agent returned in the third quarter and got the first carry on the 49ers’ first play.
He gained eight yards, and things were back on track until it wasn’t.
Jordan Mason would stay on the sidelines and not receive another carry as he finished the night with 73 yards.
Sports bettors around the country were beyond ticked off. They promptly took to social media and blasted the league for rigging the game, accusing Las Vegas of making a call to ensure that all their money was staying with them.
Losing Jordan Mason Would Be Detrimental To The 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers got a key divisional win on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks, but they may have lost in the long run.
San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason injured his left shoulder in the second quarter of the 36-24 Thursday night win.
He tried to return in the second half but quickly exited again due to discomfort and watched from the sideline for the rest of the game.
With the team already down Christian McCaffrey, who has yet to play in 2024, losing Mason for a significant time would be catastrophic.
On the season, Mason has 609 rushing yards on 114 carries.
