Devin Booker, the standout player for the Phoenix Suns, is now in his 10th season in the NBA. Even with elite teammates like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal by his side, he still hasn’t claimed an NBA championship. Recently, a former NBA All-Star suggested a strategy that could help boost Booker’s chances of finally winning a title.

In a recent appearance on Gil’s Arena, Kenyon Martin and the crew discussed Devin Booker’s championship potential with the Phoenix Suns. Martin referenced teams like the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings during their conversation to illustrate his point.
“Go get you a Ben Simmons. He’s a pass-first and willing passer. You got KD who is one of the most efficient scorers we’ve ever seen. Devin Booker is turning into that,” Martin said.
During his tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons was one of the most efficient players. However, in recent seasons, he has struggled to perform due to a nerve issue in his back. Although he underwent a microscopic partial discectomy to address this problem, his performance continues to be impacted.
Kevin Durant Applauds Booker’s Remarkable Career Progression
The Suns are currently on a three-game losing streak in the 2024-25 NBA season. Following their recent 115-110 loss to the Orlando Magic, they now sit in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. With star player Kevin Durant sidelined due to injury, Devin Booker is putting forth his best efforts for the team. Recently, Booker surpassed 15000 points, and Durant took the time to praise him on X (formerly Twitter).
“15k at 28…my dog checkin boxes. Congrats @DevinBook, more on the way” Durant wrote in his post on X.
The Phoenix Suns have a record of 12 wins and 11 losses this season, showing a competitive yet challenging start.
