VIDEO: Timberwolves Superstar Anthony Edwards Send Social Media Into A Frenzy After Revealing His Plans To Play In The NFL
Over the offseason, Anthony Edwards has been increasingly outspoken, most recently making a controversial statement about Michael Jordan. His bold and confident demeanor carried over into the New NBA preseason as he showcased his skills on the court.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Edwards made a surprising remark alongside Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson. The Timberwolves star mentioned that he will join the NFL after securing a championship in the next 3-4 years.
Edwards: “Football players can’t go play basketball, no way. I told my buddies, I said, ‘If I win a ring, in the next three to four years, I’m going to play football.’”.
Jefferson: “You’re not going to football.”
The Timberwolves star’s remark sparked a debate among fans, who began expressing their thoughts in the comment section. One fan said, “Spoiler alert: He won’t.”
Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “Stop lying bro.”
Another fan commented, “Lol he’s funny and lying.”
A sports enthusiast said, “Too bad it won’t happen with gobert still on the team.”
Another fan reacted, “Bro thinks football is easy.”
Another fan commented, “He just tryna be alternate jordan atp.”
Another fan said, “That would be epic! Imagine the highlight reel—basketball to football! Can’t wait to see him take the field if he goes for it!”
A sports enthusiast commented, “This guy is delusional. I like him less and less than everytime I hear him talk.”
Anthony Edwards Can’t Stop Raving About Donte DiVincenzo
After being acquired by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the offseason, Donte DiVincenzo made an immediate impact on the team. Anthony Edwards, who played alongside DiVincenzo in several preseason games, couldn’t help but express his admiration for DiVincenzo’s skills and contributions to the team.
“F**kin’ incredible. I don’t need the ball. You see it. I’m having fun, man. It’s fun to play with Donte.” Edwards said in a postgame interview.
The Timberwolves‘ first NBA season game will be against the Los Angeles Lakers. Basketball fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing outstanding performances from rising stars Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo in the upcoming games.
