Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault is truly an exceptional individual.

In the last few minutes, after an extremely difficult game for him where he was pulled from the game by Martin St-Louis after allowing 5 goals on 10 shots, Montembeault surprised all the reporters post-game.

He was the first to stand by his locker, ready to face the music.

While many athletes would have (understandably) asked to be left alone, Montembeault was 100% prepared to answer the reporters’ questions.

He didn’t avoid it at all.

Samuel Montembeault Shows His Tremendous Strength of Character

It’s truly to his credit!

«The Canadiens’ locker room doors opened, and Samuel Montembeault was standing by his locker, ready to speak. A tough night for him, and he acknowledged it. A man of character.» – Eric Engels

I truly applaud him for that.

Even though he was visibly frustrated with how things turned out

The Quebec goaltender faced the music and conducted himself like a true professional after the game. Hats off!

He will learn from this. I’m confident he’ll come back even stronger for his team’s next game, if Martin St-Louis immediately puts him back in action.

Details to follow.

The Montreal Canadiens’ next game is in Washington this Thursday, where they’ll take on the Great Eight.
