College football and NFL players are already bigger than the average human being. A study by a student at the University of Idaho found that the average NFL defensive tackle weighs 308 pounds. However, next to Desmond Watson, that would be considered small.

Watson is a defensive tackle for the University of Florida who stands at 6 ‘5’ and weighs a whopping 449 pounds. That’s absolutely insane, considering that Aaron Gibson was the heaviest NFL player of all time and only weighed 410 pounds.

Because it is rare to see someone of his size playing at such a high level of football, his performance caught the attention of many people, and they’re all saying the same thing.

That’s Eddie Lacy bro! Trying to find a way back into the NFL. I thought game recognized game?” one comment said about Watson.

Florida might as well line him up in the backfield and see what he can do. It would make this game more entertaining,” another said.

He’s listed as a d-lineman. I assume that’s because he is the defensive line,” joked a third.

If we could give him titanium bones he’d be unstoppable. I don’t know how you can have a frame to support that much weight,” continued a fourth about Watson .

If Desmond makes it to the NFL, he will immediately become the heaviest player ever.

Desmond Watson Is Entering His Senior Year

As Watson begins his senior year, it’s very much worth noting that he has had consistent playing time since his freshman year.

In his first year with the Gators, 2021, he played 13 games, recording just 7 tackles and one tackle for loss. In 2022 and 2023, he once again got a lot of playing time, appearing in 25 games total and getting 36 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack
