Even at 39, LeBron James’ career in the NBA seems far from over. His recent triumph with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics has even left fans wondering if the Los Angeles Lakers star would retire anytime soon.
While there have been debates involving James about who is the best in the world, recently, something interesting resurfaced on the internet and has comments from former basketball player Scottie Pippen.
Hoops, a famous basketball update page on X, recently shared a post that had Pippen’s seemingly furious attack on James. The 59-year-old bashed the Lakers star for often saying that “he feels like the best is the world.” He said,
“If you’re the best player, why do you constantly need to say it?”
James’s NBA career is often considered one of the best in the world. However, Pippen’s words seemingly show his frustration with the Lakers star, who usually calls himself the same. Whatever the case, Pippen’s comments left the fans split on the X post.
Fans Share Mixed Reaction On Scottie Pippen’s Comments On LeBron James
After Hoops shared the post on their X handle, it garnered enough attention from fans. While some bashed Pippen for verbally attacking James, a few supported his thoughts. A fan in agreement with the 59-year-old drew great similarities with the famous television series Games of Thrones and wrote,
“Reminds me of the famous Game of Thrones quote; “Any man who must say, “I am the King”, is no true king.””
Another fan questioned why Scottie Pippen has often been “salty” with his comments writing, “Why Scottie so salty all the time”
Amid all this drama, another fan highlighted the difference between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. He wrote, “Mj was loved by the fans n media they always told him he was best in the world Lebron don’t get that love from fans n the media he always been told he isn’t the best in the world so he have to remind these people”
Let’s take a look at some of the top comments from fans on the post:
Pippen’s choice of words has often drawn massive attention from fans. However, it will be really interesting to see if LeBron James comes up with a befitting reply for the former Chicago Bulls star.
