Post Malone Reveals He Recorded Another Collaboration With Morgan Wallen

Post Malone has stopped by Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast to discuss an array of topics, including his forthcoming F-1Trillion tour, his new album of the same name, the birth of his daughter and more.

However, one of the most exciting pieces of information arrived when their chat turned on to Sneedville megastar, Morgan Wallen.

Morgan Wallen & Post Malone To Send "I Had Some Help" To Country Radio Next Week, Release Date Set

When Theo Von asked Posty about writing ‘I Had Some Help’ together, the ‘Chemical’ crooner revealed that he has recorded a second collaboration with Morgan as well as ’I Had Some Help’, which was recently crowned Billboard’s 2024 Song of the Summer.

Post Malone gushed, “[Morgan Wallen’s] amazing…we wrote [‘I Had Some Help’] together. We cut another song too…” Posty then joked that his memory is still a little hazy as to the details, “I think I remember doing a verse, it was one of those long nights…!”

With ‘I Had Some Help’ continuing to establish itself as one of the most infectious anthems of the year, it’s safe to say a follow-up duet would have sizeable shoes to fill.

However, Post Malone underlined to Theo Von that he loves their second collaboration just as much, stressing, “That song’s awesome too”, before qualifying this by sharing that, at least at the moment, he’s not sure when Morgan Wallen is planning to release it, “I don’t know if he’s gonna do anything with it, but I remember it being awesome. I was having a lot of fun. We were just all together, [Chandler Walters] was there and [ERNEST], it was just killer. I love writing songs with my buddies”.

Given how Post Malone implied the ball is in Morgan Wallen’s court as to the song’s release date, it seems that, unlike ‘I Had Some Help’, Morgan is the lead artist on this collaboration.

As a result, we’re keeping our fingers crossed it features on the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper’s next album. Some are speculating that Morgan Wallen is gearing up to announce the project during his homecoming double-header of shows at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee later in September, with Morgan continuing to tease new music from the project, such as ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘Good to See You Smile’.

Elsewhere during Post Malone’s appearance on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend, Theo shared a few amusing anecdotes about working out with Morgan Wallen in Nashville, before recalling, “I remember telling my friends, ‘He’s the next Elvis Presley’”.

Theo then posed the question to Posty as to whether he thinks Morgan will go down as the biggest country artist in history. Post Malone mused, “I have a little bias, I love Hank Senior. Hank Senior for me will always be my favourite – Hank and Johnny”.

Post Malone did, however, toast Morgan Wallen as being “definitely the most massive. It’s just unprecedented, you know what I mean?” before celebrating how much he cherishes their close friendship, “He has such a great heart, you know. He gets in a little trouble, he’s got such a great heart, man, and I love that dude to death. And I don’t think that he won’t be, you know, the biggest artist of all time, maybe. You know what I mean? The trajectory is fucking insane. It really is insane”.

Post Malone and Morgan Wallen certainly caught lightning in a bottle with ‘I Had Some Help’, which spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier in the year.

Given their endearing chemistry and the fact that they’re renowned as being two of the most reliable hitmakers in modern music, we’re sure this second collaboration will live up to expectations – we just hope we don’t have to wait too long before hearing it.

Post Malone released his debut country album, F-1Trillion, in August, featuring a host of star-studded collaborations, including Lainey Wilson, Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Jr., Brad Paisley, Luke Combs, ERNEST, Billy Strings, Chris Stapleton and more.
