The Montreal Canadiens have just made a last-minute announcement involving Logan Mailloux.

The young defenseman has been reassigned to the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League, which seems to be a strong indication regarding the statuses of Justin Barron and Kaiden Guhle.

They’ll be back in action very soon, most likely as early as tomorrow night against the Washington Capitals.

Logan Mailloux Sent Down to Laval Rocket. Will Two Forwards Make the Trip in the Opposite Direction?

With an excess of defensemen, now that Barron and Guhle are healthy, could there be a shortage on offense?

Many are calling for the recalls of Joshua Roy and/or Alex Barre -Boulet this morning, so that’s another situation to watch as the Canadiens players prepare to board the plane.

In any case, we can officially say that Mailloux won’t be traveling with the team. He played relatively well yesterday, but had tougher moments during the recent weekend.

Logan Mailloux, 21 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 213-pound defenseman. The Canadiens’ 31st overall pick in 2021 (first round of the draft) has still managed to tally three points in five games this season with Montreal in the NHL.

It’s more on the defensive side where he has had some slip-ups, which is perfectly normal.

He will continue his season with the Laval Rocket, where he has collected four points (2 goals and 2 assists) in two games so far this 2024-2025 season.

Details to follow.
