Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes caused a massive stir during Thursday night’s NFL kickoff game between the Chiefs and the Ravens, as they were not seen sitting together like they usually do.
The NFL WAGS typically hang out at games and were spotted celebrating together quite often last season, so it was odd that they were not shown sitting next to each other this week. Swift was in a suite with Travis Kelce’s family, while Mahomes was elsewhere with her kids.
The distance between the women prompted rumors claiming the singer stayed away from her new friend because the latter recently showed support for Donald Trump.
Taylor Swift And Brittany Mahomes Had A Very Different Reason For Sitting Apart
Swift is known to support the Democratic party and is expected to publicly back Kamala Harris soon. However, a source close to the two women has pushed back on the notion that their decision to sit apart had something to do with politics.
“They are very good friends and they were so excited to go to the game, but they had different plans as it happens sometimes,” the insider told The U.S. Sun.
“Brittany is a family woman, and Taylor likes to enjoy the game sometimes like it’s a party. They felt like they were in a different vibe for the first game of the season.
“They did hang out for a bit before and after the game while waiting for Patrick and Travis. But Brittany preferred for the first game of the season to be in a suite with family and the kid, in a bit more of a ‘low key’ vibe.
“Taylor wanted more of a ‘party and drinks vibe’ for the game and enjoy it differently. There are absolutely zero tensions between them, they love and respect each other a lot, they were just wanting a different kind of vibe for the first game of the season at home.”
Admittedly, it’s way easier to believe the above than to believe that Taylor Swift abandoned Brittany Mahomes because of their differing political beliefs. But everyone will be looking out for them in the upcoming Chiefs fixtures.
