Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams gave a brutally honest assessment of Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers when he faced the press after the game.
The Niners won 38-13 on the day to snatch just their sixth victory of the 2024 season, following their run to the Super Bowl in 2023.
Williams, who has only been able to help the Bears to four wins in his first professional campaign, appeared frustrated when he sat in front of reporters. He admitted the Bears got their “a**” kicked.”
“We got our a** kicked today; there’s no way around it,” he said frankly.

Brock Purdy Outshone Caleb Williams On Sunday
Sunday’s game was important for both teams. The Bears were coming off a six-game losing streak, having recently fired head coach Matt Eberflus.
The Niners were also on a losing streak, having lost three on the bounce, and they were able to stop the skid as Brock Purdy put in a remarkable performance to fire San Francisco to its highest-scoring game of the season, throwing for 325 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams, meanwhile, was sacked seven times, throwing for 134 yards and two scores.
