Excitement is at an all-time high for Detroit Lions fans and it’s easy to see why.

After years of the franchise struggling, they made it to the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991 last season.

They fell short in that game after blowing a 17-point second half lead to the 49ers, but have since built on last season’s successes.

This season’s team went 15-2 during the regular season, earning the top seed in the NFC and the first-round bye that comes with that.

Now they find themselves just one game away from returning to the NFC Championship Game and fans are paying a premium to get to see their Divisional Round matchup against the Washington Commanders.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the average purchase price for a ticket on TickPick is $991, making it the most expensive non-Super Bowl game in NFL history.

He also added that the get-in price on this service is $588.

It feels like an absurd amount of money for a game in the second round of the playoffs, but if there is any fanbase that could think it’s worth the price, it’s the Lions’ fanbase.

This a franchise that went 0-16 just 16 years ago. 4 years ago their franchise QB requested a trade because he wanted to play for a contender.

Now the Lions are in the midst of what feels like the most important season in franchise history.

It’s no surprise their fans want to be a part of it however they can and no matter the cost.

If the season ends with the Lions’ first Super Bowl win, those fans will probably feel like the memory of seeing part of the playoff run was worth the price.
