We have a signing to share with you within the Montreal Canadiens organization. A new young forward has joined the ranks of the Canadiens, and he seems quite promising, so we wanted to introduce him to you.
Who knows? He might possibly climb the ranks in the coming years.
First, take a look at the official announcement from the Trois-Rivières Lions, confirming the forward’s signing:
He will join the team in Norfolk.
Welcome to the team, Métis!»

Métis Roelens Signs with the Montreal Canadiens’ ECHL Affiliate, the Trois-Rivières Lions
We’re talking about a forward with excellent physical attributes who has been productive almost everywhere he’s played.
Roelens, 24, is a big center standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 208 pounds.
Originally from Belgium, he grew up in the Quebec City region, where he notably played with the Arsenal of St-Louis Academy.
He then moved up to Midget AAA before playing in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques.
During his last three seasons in Gatineau, he recorded 44 points in 68 games, 48 points in 56 games, and 29 points in 31 games (for a total of 52 goals).
In the ECHL, he has tallied 7 points in just 4 games, showcasing undeniable offensive talent.
Could he be the type of player to eventually catch the attention of the Montreal Canadiens’ management and surprise everyone during training camps?
We’re excited to see how things unfold, but this is a solid addition by Ron Choules’ team.
