We have an update on the injury sustained by Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine. In the past few minutes, journalist Eric Engels confirmed that Laine boarded the plane with his teammates heading to Florida.
This is obviously great news.
« Patrik Laine, who didn’t finish Monday’s game in Columbus, is on the plane with the Canadiens to Florida. We should get an update on his status later today, when Habs practice down here.

Additionally, it’s good news to learn that the Canadiens called up goaltender Jakub Dobes today (from the Laval Rocket), but no forwards.
This suggests that Laine avoided a serious injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Recalling Dobes but no forwards is good news for Patrik Laine’s situation.

As for Laine’s availability for tomorrow afternoon’s game against the Florida Panthers, more information is expected around 2:00 PM during the Canadiens’ practice in Sunrise.
For now, there’s nothing to indicate that Laine won’t play this weekend, which is obviously encouraging.
Patrik Laine, 26 years old, is a 6-foot-4, 208-pound forward who has tallied 9 points in 10 games this season with the Habs (including 8 goals) and has had an immediate impact on Martin St. Louis’ power play.
