Journalist Arpon Basu has just published an interesting article showing how involved Nick Suzuki is in the decisions within the Montreal Canadiens.
The captain of the Habs is consulted on decisions that are normally not made by a captain in the NHL, but personally, I love hearing this.
It once again shows how much Martin St-Louis and his assistants want to stay close to their locker room and their captain.
Nick Suzuki Behind the Decisions to Cancel Practices
You’ve probably noticed over the past few weeks that Montreal Canadiens players are training less and resting more, mainly due to the condensed schedule.
Well, these cancellations of practices are partly coming from none other than Captain Nick Suzuki.
It’s very rare to see this in the NHL, but we love it.
According to Arpon Basu, the captain of the Canadiens, Nick Suzuki is very involved in managing the team’s schedule.
All the details are in Arpon Basu’s article.
We can see how much Suzuki is taking on more and more of a role within the organization, like Shea Weber did before him, and that can only be positive in my humble opinion.
Suzuki, 25 years old, has accumulated 47 points in 46 games this season, including 14 goals, with an impressive +8 plus-minus rating.
The captain and his troops will face the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight.
Samuel Montembeault will be in net for his team.
