Fans of the Montreal Canadiens are well aware of the impressive feats of young goaltender Jakub Dobes. To say that he is having an exceptional start to his career would be an understatement.
Dobes is having a historic start to his career.
His work is obviously recognized in Montreal and among Canadiens fans, but following last night’s victory against the Dallas Stars, Dobes’ efforts are now beginning to be recognized throughout the entire NHL.
An official statement from the NHL directly, regarding Jakub Dobes
It’s always nice to see the work of a player from our Montreal Canadiens being recognized directly by the official NHL page.
«Jakub Dobes is on another level to start his NHL career!»
– National Hockey League
And a second one!
«Jakub Dobes through his first four career starts:
– 4-0-0
– 0.98 goals-against average
– .963 save percentage
– 1 shutout»
– National Hockey League
And even across the four corners of the hockey world:
One thing is for sure, we are very happy to have him on our team, Jakub Dobes, and congratulations to the management for finally giving him his chance.
It will be really interesting to monitor the Canadiens’ goalie rotation over the next few weeks, because both of them are incredible right now.
At this point, Martin St-Louis could simply imitate the Boston Bruins with Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman a few years ago, and do what they did in the peewee ranks.
Each goalie plays one game at a time, alternating, until one of them goes through a rough patch.
And if it were your decision, what would you do with Jakub Dobes and Samuel Montembeault?
One thing is for sure, it didn’t take long for Jakub Dobes to make waves in the NHL.
