Mom is an SNL icon worth $75M who has gotten on the wrong side of Taylor Swift and Lindsay Lohan … can you guess these nepo babies?

Their mother is one of the stalwarts of show business who has spent decades building a successful career, with a number of notable hits and a long run on NBC’s stalwart comedy series Saturday Night Live.

The 54-year-old actress-writer and her spouse, a 63-year-old composer and comedian, tied the knot in 2001 and welcomed their first child in 2005 and their second in 2011.

The family has resided where SNL and many of their mother’s other notable projects have been based, New York City.

The girls, who have been featured in their mother’s projects and inspired her creatively, were recently spotted with both of their parents attending the star-laden crowd US Open tennis tournament Saturday.

Can you guess the identity of these second-generation stars, ages 18 and 13?

They are Alice Zenobia Richmond, 18, and Penelope Athena Richmond, 13, the daughter of Tina Fey, 54, and Jeff Richmond, 63.

The pair – who exchanged vows on June 3, 2001, had welcomed Alice Zenobia September 10, 2005, and Athena on August 10, 2011.

Fey was a key player on Saturday Night Live as an actress/writer, having appeared on 144 episodes of the sketch series, as she was a regular between 1997–2006.

Fey also penned the script for the hit 2004 Lindsay Lohan film Mean Girls and played Ms. Norbury in it. She also wrote the script for the musical adaptation of the movie that arrived in theaters earlier this year.

Fey created and starred in the New York-based comedy 30 Rock, which ran from 2006–2013 and also featured Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jane Krakowski.

Creative collaborations and contributions

Fey earlier this year chat about how her offspring have helped influence her creatively to Entertainment Tonight this past January at the premiere of her Mean Girls musical movie at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City

‘Sometimes I would run things by the kids,’ Fey said. ‘Like casting, or you know, like, “Should the burn book stay a book, or should it be a private Instagram account?” And they’re like, “No, it’s a book, it’s a book.”‘

Fey featured Alice, who celebrates her 19th birthday on Tuesday, on her show 30 Rock in 2012 on an episode called Mazel Tov, Dummies! as a seven-year-old incarnation of her mother’s character, Liz.

Alice also appeared on the show’s A One-Time Special in 2020.

As she accepted honors at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2009, Fey credited Alice having come up with the phrase from the series, ‘I want to go to there’ – calling her ‘the funniest person’ in the showbiz family.

Fey, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April of 2018, said that Alice had shown interest in making films, and that she and her younger sibling had made a short movie called Butt Show.

Fey joked that her daughters ‘sold it to Netflix.’

Fey featured her younger daughter Penelope on her Peacock series Girls5Eva, telling the Today show in June of 2021, ‘There was a part for a 9-year-old, and I was like, ‘If we don’t let her audition for this, she’s going to kill us.’

Fey said that she was reluctant to give Penelope the role, noting, ‘She auditioned, she put herself on tape … I can’t let the boss’ kid get the first job they ever audition for.

A child actress who was cast in the role could not do it due to pandemic travel restrictions, and Penelope received the role.

Said Fey: ‘She did a great job and she was super professional .

‘For kind of a grim year of like distance learning and all that stuff, it was a little treat for her.’

Rows with Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Swift

Fey’s comedy has occasionally rubbed fellow celebs the wrong way, including superstar singer Taylor Swift and Lohan, her collaborator on Mean Girls.

Lohan, who portrayed the role of Cady Heron in the 2004 movie, ‘was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the’ 2024 musical film to the phrase ‘fire crotch,’ a rep for Lohan told People earlier this year.

The reference in the musical, which Lohan made a cameo in, was made by Megan Thee Stallion, saying of a holiday-themed bit, ‘Y2K fire crotch is back.’

The phrase references a name socialite-oil heir Brandon Davis dubbed Lohan with in a paparazzi video in 2006 as he was seen with Paris Hilton.

The line was subsequently taken out of the movie’s digital release, Page Six reported in February.

The tension with Swift emanated from a joke Fey made with co-host Amy Poehler at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards about Swift’s love life and how her past starry relationships had been cited in her material.

Fey said that Swift – who was 23 at the time – should ‘stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son’ and take ‘some “me time” to learn about herself,’ to which Poehler added, ‘Go for it.’

Swift was not pleased with the remarks, telling Vanity Fair in March of 2013, ‘You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved that said, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”‘

Poehler later told The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.’
