As the Montreal Canadiens prepare to face the Washington Capitals tonight live from the Bell Centre, there is some news.

TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has just announced a change to Martin St-Louis’ lineup, which will be confirmed shortly.

Good news involving Kaiden Guhle

According to Renaud Lavoie, everything indicates that Guhle will indeed be back in action tonight after missing one game.

This will be a big boost for Martin St-Louis’ defensive corps.

It will also be interesting to see which defenseman will make way for Guhle, but it’s expected to be either Justin Barron or Jayden Struble.

Please note that, unsurprisingly, goaltender Samuel Montembeault will be back in net for his team.

Kaiden Guhle, 22 years old, is a 6-foot-3, 202-pound defenseman.

The Montreal Canadiens’ first-round pick in 2020 (16th overall) has registered 6 points in 20 games this season.

As for Samuel Montembeault, the 28-year-old goaltender has a record of 8-10-2 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.82 and a save percentage of .906.

Do you think the Canadiens will be able to beat the Washington Capitals at home, especially with the visitors missing the services of the great Alex Ovechkin?

Interestingly, Washington has probably been the biggest surprise of the 2024-2025 season so far, as the Capitals currently sit in first place in the Metropolitan Division (with a record of 18 wins, 6 losses, and 2 overtime losses).

UPDATE

Shortly after Renaud Lavoie reported it, the Canadiens have now confirmed it, Guhle will officially be back for tonight’s game:
