Eminem and 50 Cent have long been one of hip-hop’s most iconic duos, with a bond that stretches back to the early 2000s. Their musical partnership has gifted fans with a treasure trove of hits, and now, Eminem has hinted that a full collaboration album with 50 Cent might be in the works.
In a candid interview on SiriusXM’s Whoo’s House Podcast, Eminem was asked about the possibility of recording an album with his longtime friend and collaborator. His response was as straightforward as it was exciting: “That would be great,” Eminem shared. “I mean, I think that we just got to stop bulls—ting and just do it.”
Eminem’s openness to the idea shows that despite their busy schedules, a collaboration is far from impossible. “I would never say it’s not possible, s—!” he added with his trademark enthusiasm.
The dynamic between these two legendary rappers began when Eminem signed 50 Cent to his Shady Records label in 2002, after being impressed by 50’s mixtape Guess Who’s Back?. That year, 50 Cent contributed to the 8 Mile soundtrack, and Eminem executive produced 50’s debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which became an instant classic. The pair worked together on several tracks from both albums, including the memorable “Patiently Waiting” and “Don’t Push Me.”
Over the years, their collaborations have only increased. From the anthemic “Encore” and “Crack a Bottle” to fan favorites like “You Don’t Know” and “Never Enough,” Eminem and 50 Cent have built an impressive catalog of songs together. They’ve also teamed up on various features with other artists, including on tracks with Obie Trice, Lloyd Banks, Ed Sheeran, and Snoop Dogg.
Beyond the studio, the two have shared the stage numerous times, such as during the Home & Home Tour in 2010 and their iconic appearance together at Eminem’s 2019 Super Bowl halftime show. Their chemistry is undeniable, whether performing live or in the recording booth.
Their bond goes beyond music as well. In 2021, 50 Cent directed an episode of his BMF series that featured Eminem in a cameo as White Boy Rick. This was another testament to their enduring friendship and creative partnership. And just last year, 50 Cent teased that the duo was working on a “modern version” of 8 Mile for television, ensuring the legacy of their collaboration continues.
Of course, no interview with Eminem would be complete without his trademark humor. When asked about the possibility of fighting Mike Tyson—referencing Jake Paul’s infamous challenge—Eminem joked, “That guy would hit me one time and I’d f—in’ die, so I guess that’s it.” True to form, the rap legend’s humility and wit were on full display.
So, as Eminem puts it, the ball is in their court. Fans can only hope that the two hip-hop icons will “stop bulls—ting” and finally give us the collaborative album we’ve all been waiting for. Here’s hoping that the long-rumored project becomes a reality, continuing the incredible legacy of one of rap’s greatest partnerships.
