Artem Chigvintsev prepares for Dancing with the Stars

Artem Chigvintsev will not return as a pro for Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, following his arrest for domestic violence in Napa Valley, California.

A source confirmed to Page Six Thursday after news of his arrest broke: “There were no plans for Artem to be a part of Season 33.”

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office told press that deputies responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville, California, around 10 a.m., where Chigvintsev, 42, was arrested on the scene.

The outlet reported that there were injuries, and the victim has asked for “total confidentiality.”

Chigvintsev’s bail was set at $25,000, according to online records. It’s unclear whether his wife and fellow DWTS star, Nikki Garcia, was involved or present during the incident.

However, she had posted an Instagram story from the wine region a day prior. Chigvintsev and Garcia had just celebrated their second wedding anniversary earlier in the week, as pro Witney Carson was confirmed for Season 33.

“Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you. You are my everything,” Chigvintsev wrote on Instagram, sharing photos from the dancing couple’s wedding.

Garcia also reflected on their relationship, gushing over their “love story” and how she knew it “was meant to be” when they began dating after meeting on the show in 2019.

Chigvintsev, a DWTS pro since 2014, was previously cut from the lineup in Season 28, a move that shocked fans.

He said at the time: “It’s weird. Dedicating something for the past 10 years, putting your absolute all [into it]… it’s not even a job, it’s a lifestyle if you’ve been doing it for a very long time.”

He returned the following season and competed last fall, placing fourth with Bachelorette alum Charity Lawson.

The full cast for Season 33 will be revealed September 4 on Good Morning America. ABC does not comment on casting rumors.
