Luka Doncic amazed everyone at the American Airlines Center on Monday with his exceptional skills on the court. The Slovenian basketball player finished the game with 32 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds. However, his efforts were not enough, as the Mavericks lost to the Indiana Pacers with a final score of 127-134
Fans witnessed a heated moment during the intense game. In an effort to secure the victory, the Pacers implemented various strategies. Pacers forward Bennedict Mathurin engaged in trash-talking with Doncic. After the Mavericks’ loss, Doncic discussed the exchange with Mathurin during the post-game press conference.
“He started talking s**t, one minute to go. You know what that’s about. I just said, you know, if you can talk sh*t, start it early. You know, how I do.” Doncic said.
Doncic is known for his trash-talking on the court. He frequently engages in intense conversations with various players. Recently, during a game against the Orlando Magic, he even trash-talked with the Magic’s German players in their language.
Doncic Points To Pacers Center As Key Factor In Loss
The Mavericks had a favorable start to the 2024-25 NBA season. After their recent loss to the Pacers, they now hold a 4-3 record. Despite the trash talk, the Slovenian basketball player had words of praise for the Pacers’ players. During the post-game press conference, Doncic credited Pacers center Myles Turner for their success against him.
“I think Turner killed us there…It looked like we couldn’t stop him. We should have done a better job. We know he wants to shoot. He’s home. I think he’s from here. So you know he wants to put up a show.” Doncic said.
Doncic has always been an aggressive player on the court. Last season, in the playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he trash-talked with Rudy Gobert. It will be exciting to see more from him in the upcoming games.
