Nobody has to worry about whether Angel Reese can afford rent.
The Chicago Sky star agreed to a multiyear endorsement contract extension with Reebok and will release a signature shoe through the company, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday. Reese initially signed an endorsement deal with Reebok when she was at LSU in 2023.
She joked on social media that she can afford her bills as a result:
The joke comes after she turned heads earlier this month when she said her WNBA salary doesn’t cover her $8,000 rent:
Reese made $73,439 in her first season as the No. 7 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft, although she was a household name before she even entered the league. She became a star and national champion at LSU and counts Reese’s and Beats by Dre among her other partnerships.
Now one of her partnerships will mean a signature shoe.
“I’m extremely excited to let you guys know that we are officially coming out with a Reebok by Angel signature shoe,” Reese said in a statement, per Ben Pickman of The Athletic. “We’ve already kicked off the design process, and it means the world to me to have Reebok’s full support and confidence with this shoe and overall partnership.”
This comes after the LSU product was largely excellent in her rookie season.
Reese was named to the All-Star Game and 2024 All-Rookie team while averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game as a double-double machine.
