The alarm bells have started to ring for the Los Angeles Lakers. What looked like a perfect start is already looking like a nightmarish season. In a complete twist of fate, the Lakers slumped to yet another defeat, making them go 1-3 down in their recent five-game road trip. Pitted against the Detroit Pistons, the Purple and Gold suffered a brutal thrashing of 103-115. And quite concerningly, their star prospect, Davis, too, is critical of the situation.

Speaking about the mixed season so far for the Los Angeles Lakers, Davis seemed quite baffled, too. He said, We’re just two different teams right now… One game, we’re this team who showcased it can be one of the better teams in the league. Then the next, we’re this team who — I don’t even know who we are. So, we just got to be better.” Next up, the Lakers’ leading scorer also had a warning for his team.

Davis mentioned that if the Lakers did not show enough character and put on a consistent performance, they must not dream about the playoffs this season. Well, this was not the only worrying thing for the Los Angeles outfit. Anthony Davis was checked for a possible ankle injury after the game. Keeping up with his excellent form, Davis notched up 37 points in a losing cause.

Talking about his injury, Davis mentioned that he has been struggling with his foot all through this season. However, the 31-year-old seemed quite confident and he has not been ruled out of the upcoming Grizzlies game too. Meanwhile, as things look grim for the Lakers, a LeBron James special stat will surely boost the morale of the fans.

LeBron James Myth Might Take The Lakers Through Despite Anthony Davis Concerns

The Lakers started their season on a blazing note. They won three of their opening games to mark the best NBA season-opening record since 2010-11. With the raging form of Anthony Davis, LeBron James too, seemed like returning to his absolute finest. Unfortunately, things have not been the same since.

But despite the recent rough patch, there is a piece of stat that might just help the Lakers fans breathe easy. In all these years, King James has always reached the NBA finals when his team started 2-0 up. Thus, with games coming in thick and fast, it will be interesting to see how well the Lakers can recover and get back on the winning track.
