The Golden State Warriors extended their winning run after getting the better of the Memphis Grizzlies recently. Unfortunately, the entirety of the winning essence was lost significantly due to the controversies that followed throughout the match. It all started when the Warriors’ star, Draymond Green, got caught with Zach Ebedy. While trying to drive the ball to the basket, Green fell down as Ebedy tried to capitalize on the loose chance.

During the play, Green’s foot came in the way of Ebedy, preventing him from advancing further. Apparently, nothing seemed odd at first. However, in slow motion, it looked like Green had stuck up his legs intentionally. Immediately, the referee in charge called a foul on the four time NBA champion. Trying to prevent further escalation, head coach Steve Kerr promptly substituted him to the bench.

But Green looked too enraged to calm down. He continued to direct a mouthful towards the referee constantly. After a while, the officials thought it was enough and ejected Green out of the arena, handing him his second technical foul. Now, such a situation only made matters worse. Looking composed up until now, Steve Kerr too, joined in on the action.

Losing his cool, Kerr charged aggressively at the referees while yelling at them for horrible officiating. Things went to such an extent that Moses Moody and Gary Payton II had to intervene and forcefully hold him back.

Addressing the issue after the game, a frustrated Kerr stated, “The last quarter, the last half was disgusting. I felt bad for our fans having to watch that – what transpired.” Now, this was not the only reason for his outrage. Kerr had more reason to lash out at the officials.

Steve Kerr Further Details His Anger

Draymond Green got foul-mouthed as he hurled, “F*** you” to the referees after being ejected. This pretty much sums up how agitated the Warriors camp was. Apart from Green’s ejection, there was more reason for Kerr to be angry. According to reports from the Warriors’ camp, the referee constantly gave away tiny fouls in favor of the Grizzlies. This was, as per Buddy Hield, due to the fact that the Warriors were leading by 10-15 points.

Such a play escalated the frustration levels of Kerr further. “It was just kind of disgusting, that last quarter and a half. I felt bad for our fans having to watch just what transpired… I’m thrilled with the win. Love the way our guys competed. Just too bad the game had to devolve into a parade to the free throw line.”, Kerr said addressing the media. Thus, with a long list of grievances, the match surely left a sour taste for the Warriors despite the win.
