Tom Brady and Bryson Dechambeau (via X)
Tom Brady was one of the most successful quarterbacks in the NFL during his over 20 year career in the league. Most of his career was played with the New England Patriots and he was teammates with Rob Gronkowski during that time as well.
Brady and Gronk nearly hold many NFL teammate records. Over their 11 seasons together in the NFL, they suited up in 141 games together, and they almost broke the record for most touchdown passes between teammates at 105.
Gronkowski himself didn’t have a bad career. In 143 games as a tight end, Gronk had 621 receptions for nearly 9,300 yards and 92 touchdowns. He was even able to surpass the 1,000 yard mark four times in his NFL tenure.
However, according to what Tom Brady told golfer Bryson Dechambeau, Rob Gronkowski would not have half of the yards that he finished his career with if it wasn’t for the record holder of that coveted most touchdown passes between teammates.
Tom Brady Claims Peyton Manning Was The Reason For Half Of Gronk’s Receiving Yards
In a video clip Brady reposted to his X page, he can be seen talking to pro golfer, Bryson Dechambeau. He claimed that he had went to former Broncos and Colts quarterback, Peyton Manning about a certain play.
“I met with Peyton Manning for like three days,” Brady told the golfer. “He taught me that play he used to run a lot, and we ended up installing it in our offense,” he said before claiming that half of Gronk’s receiving yards were on the play.
After Brady’s crazy revelation, Gronk clearly now has Peyton Manning to thank for at least part of his achievements on the gridiron. Will Manning ever get a “thanks” from Rob Gronkowski, it will remain to be seen for now.
