Tom Brady found out something disheartening about his contract at FOX Sports while on the air this past Sunday.
The former NFL quarterback is in his first season with the network, having signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million while still suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s finding out that life in the booth, though not as grueling as on the football field, can be just as demanding.
Brady lent his expertise to Sunday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers and joined ‘The OT’ postgame show to discuss the Packers’ win with his colleagues.
Tom Brady Won’t Get To Enjoy Thanksgiving With His Family
One of those colleagues, Curt Menefee, would remind him of his Thanksgiving Day obligations, recalling that Michael Strahan was caught by surprise when he learned he would have to work on the holiday when he first joined the network.
“Hey Tom, [Michael] Strahan’s first year, he learned that he actually had to work on Thanksgiving Day,” he told Brady.
“He thought he had it off. Did they tell you that before you came? You have to work on Thanksgiving Day this year!”
“What!?” Brady responded, feigning surprise before laughing.
Strahan would then suggest that they should skip work and enjoy Thanksgiving together.

Tom Brady’s first year in the FOX booth is going well. Since taking over as their lead analyst, he’s called some big games for the broadcast company but has received some criticism over certain things.
He will be the first to admit that he still has much to learn, but he also has nine years to perfect his style.
