The Tampa Bay Bucs should be above .500 if not for a terrible no-call on Kyle Pitts.
Kyle Pitts scored Atlanta’s first touchdown of the afternoon in the Falcons’ 31-26 victory against Tampa Bay, then appeared to score another midway through the second quarter.
Kirk Cousins found Pitts for a 49-yard touchdown, and it sure seemed like it evened up the score.
However, it appeared that Pitts never crossed the goal line with the football.
Antoine Winfield Jr. caught up with Pitts, dove at the ball, and knocked it loose just as Pitts was crossing the goal line.
New footage seems to suggest that the refs screwed the Bucs.
The initial ruling was a touchdown; if overturned, it would be Tampa Bay’s ball on a touchback.
Kyle Pittsb got way too casual on the stroll into the end zone, and it nearly cost him.
Fortunately for him, the review upheld the call on the field as Bus fans booed them out of the stadium.
Kyle Pitts Had His Best Game Of The Year Despite Controversy
Kyle Pitts had quite the day.
The fourth-year tight end had arguably the best game of his career on Sunday, finishing with four catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
The Atlanta Falcons tight end nearly suffered an embarrassing football moment on Sunday in the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Kirk Cousins found Pitts for a 49-yard touchdown, but it almost became a turnover as he got way too casual as he made his way to the end zone.
Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. tracked Pitts down and knocked the ball out of the tight end’s hand as he crossed the goal line.
Revew upheld the play.
