Jerry Jones did not have a good birthday.
When AT&T Stadium was built, Jerry Jones had a clear long-term vision for the stadium and the Dallas Cowboys, and so far, the team has yet to deliver on it.
On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys owner was forced to watch as his team was embarrassed on their home field as the Detroit Lions marched into AT&T Stadium and served a whooping to the Cowboys.
Jerry Jones wasn’t pleased in the aftermath.
Jones, who turned 82 years old on Sunday, said after the game, “This was a shocker.”
When asked about the 47–9 defeat, Jones called his team’s performance “very concerning” and “very humbling.”
Dallas has struggled this year, but never have they struggled as badly at home as they have in 2024.
Jerry Jones is finding no comfort at home as the team has lost its first three games at AT&T stadium.
The loss on Sunday was particularly bad. The blowout against the Lions was tied for the fifth-largest margin of defeat in franchise history and the team’s worst loss since 2010.
The Lions dismantled the Cowboys in every facet of the game.
Luckily, the team has a much-needed bye week.
Unfortunately, they will return in Week Eight on the road against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium.
Jerry Jones Speaks On Possibly Firing Head Coach Mike McCarthy
The Dallas Cowboys suffered an embarrassing 47-9 defeat on Sunday, leaving many questioning Mike McCarthy’s job security going forward.
Dallas didn’t find the end zone all game long, as they settled for just three field goals.
After the matchup, Jones was asked about making a coaching change.
“I’m not considering that,” Jones said in the locker room after the game.
