Ja’Marr Chase has seemingly had enough of his head coach.
Frustrations are beginning to boil over, as the Cincinnati Bengals will enter their bye week on a low note after dropping to 4-7.
The Bengals rallied back from a 27-6 second-half deficit and looked in prime position to get a huge signature victory, but were defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers 34-27 in a Sunday night thriller.
What makes this even more frustrating is that it was the Bengals’ sixth loss by one score this season.
Following the game, star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was not in a good mood when speaking to reporters, seemingly calling out head coach Zac Taylor.
“Ask Zac (Taylor). Ask the coaches. Don’t ask me. That’s not my job,” Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said postgame when asked about the team’s inability to finish close game. “I play football on the field. I don’t call plays for us, you know? So I can’t really do nothing.”
On Sunday Night Football, Chase finished the game with seven receptions, 75 yards and two touchdowns. His fellow wideout teammate, Tee Higgins, had nine catches for 148 yards and a touchdown.
Despite that insane production, it still wasn’t enough to come out with a much-needed win.
Ja’Marr Chase Knows The Bengals Have Zero Room For Error For The Rest of The Season
Following Sunday’s 34-27 loss to the Chargers, the Bengals were once again left down in the dumps. They are still trying to figure out what the team is doing wrong.
Six of Cincinnati’s seven losses in 2024 have been by one possession.
When Ja’Marr Chase was asked how the team could finish better, he exploded, “How do I do it? I don’t know,” Chase said. Ask Zac. Ask the coaches—don’t ask me. That’s not my job.”
His anger is likely due to the fact that this 2024 season is quickly becoming a lost year, and when the team comes back from their bye week, they will have zero margin for error.
The Bengals cannot afford to lose another game; otherwise, they will be watching playoff football from the couch in January.
