Aaron Rodgers really needed to get something off his chest about LeBron James and many other athletes like him.
The Presidential election season is finally over, and the political ads that we have all been forced to watch will not return until 2028.
Days before Donald Trump would win his second term in the White House, the New York Jets quarterback would appear on The Pat McAfee Show.
Aaron Rodgers refused to endorse a candidate for the presidential election, but he made damn sure to take a shot at those who have.
During an appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday, the crew referred to Tuesday as the “trade deadline” while discussing political issues.
While referring to that day, Aaron Rodgers appeared to take a jab at celebrities who have made endorsements this year, most notably LeBron James, as he mentioned China.
“If you don’t know what to do on trade deadline, just ask your favorite celebrity,” Rodgers said. “My favorite is when the celebrity is bought and paid for by China.”
What makes that comment even crazier is that LeBron James had just thrown praise towards Rodgers for the 52-yard Hail Mary he threw to Allen Lazard to end the first half a game against the Buffalo Bills last month.
The New York Jets quarterback wasn’t quite done as he continued by criticizing the current administration for their efforts to aid Ukraine.
“I don’t have a problem with Ukraine, at all, I just think there are a lot of problems in the United States that $180 billion could maybe help instead of fighting a proxy war,” said the quarterback.
“You know, like natural disasters, and there’s FEMA is confiscating bottles of water and food supplies from people trying to help, like maybe let’s help those people out.”
While Aaron Rodgers refused to endorse a candidate, players like LeBron and Steph Curry were open to their political affiliations as they endorsed Kamala Harris.
As we all saw, San Francisco defensive star Nick Bosa wore his MAGA cap for Donald Trump.
Aaron Rodgers Was Once A Potential Running Mate For Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Aaron Rodgers may have refused to pick a political candidate, but it appears the one he wanted did not win the bid.
Earlier this year, he confirmed he chose to continue his NFL playing career rather than becoming Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate in the US presidential race.
CNN previously reported Kennedy had met with Rodgers about the possibility of joining Kennedy’s campaign.
After being turned down, Kennedy chose Silicon Valley attorney and entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan as his vice-presidential pick.
As we saw, RFK dropped out of the running since no one was beating Donald Trump.
