During a recent night out, 37-year old Artem Tortochakov was involved in a fight, and tragically, the hockey player would ultimately pass away after the incident.
Translation: “A hockey player of Metallurg Khakassia died after a fight near a nightclub in Abakan
A source in the investigative committee told RIA Novosti that there was a conflict between 37-year-old hockey player Artem Tortochakov and a 25-year-old resident of Abakan, which led to the death of the athlete.”
“The press service of the Investigative Committee told RIA Novosti that a criminal case has been opened against a 25-year-old resident of Abakan regarding the death of a 37-year-old man as a result of a fight. According to investigators, on the night of November 3, the deceased and the suspect had a fight while near one of the entertainment establishments in Abakan. Afterwards, the suspect struck the victim several times with his hands and a kick in the head. Then the fight moved further away from the establishment.
The victim was taken to the hospital, however, despite the resuscitation measures taken, it was not possible to save the man.”
As the criminal case has just been opened, it’s unclear how long the process will take and what the final result would be, but hopefully after such a tragic moment, the other person involved will be brought to justice. We take this time to send our condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Tortochakov, and hope that they can find some joy in the memory of their fallen friend, who, by all account was beloved by his teammates and everyone that knew him.
Rest in Peace.
