You know things aren’t going well right now for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens, but Patrick Roy and the Islanders are also in hot water.

After a promising start to the season, things are really going downhill for the Islanders, and it’s starting to make waves.

Patrick Roy’s squad is currently in 27th place in the NHL standings, three spots behind the Canadiens.

Things aren’t looking good for Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders either

The team is on a two-game losing streak, and Roy is starting to make big moves, notably benching his star player Mathew Barzal to send a clear message.

That said, according to the reputable David Pagnotta, something is going to happen in New York.

The organization is going to make some kind of change.

Could it be a trade? A dismissal for Lou Lamoriello? Another big decision?

It’s something to watch, and it promises to be fascinating, especially since, unlike Montreal, the Islanders can’t afford to miss the playoffs with a roster mostly in its prime.

«Game number 10 tonight for the Islanders. It’s still early, but if they don’t turn things around soon, they’ll have to make a move, some change. They can’t keep switching coaches. Frustration is mounting across the island.»

If you were in Lou Lamoriello’s shoes, what major change would you make to get the Islanders back on track?

Do you think Patrick Roy would be better equipped if he had younger, more motivated players?
