Unfortunately, things are going poorly for Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders.

With the Montreal Canadiens in the midst of a rebuilding phase, many Habs fans turned their support toward former Canadiens goalie legend Patrick Roy and his team.

Unfortunately, the reality is that Patrick Roy was placed in a very difficult situation where he’s being asked to win and practically take his team to the Stanley Cup this season, even though he clearly doesn’t have the roster to achieve that.

He’s dealing with an aging team that should probably opt for a small rebuild but stubbornly aims for the Stanley Cup.

In short, things are really bad for Patrick Roy and the Islanders right now.

Patrick Roy’s Islanders are no longer winning, and impatience is growing among the management on Long Island

His team has just suffered its fourth loss in five games.

If some were talking about the possible dismissal of Martin St-Louis earlier this month, well, Patrick Roy might be in even hotter water than MSL right now.

Patrick Roy dismissed before Martin St-Louis: a prediction to remember.

That was true a few weeks ago, and it still is, because the Islanders simply aren’t winning.

And in my opinion, if Jim Montgomery was fired, no one is safe.

All I wish is to see Patrick Roy succeed in the National Hockey League as a head coach, whether it’s on Long Island or elsewhere.

If Roy’s name is starting to appear in firing rumors in the NHL and in New York this morning, well, Mike Bartner has just released a list of the next 10 coaches likely to be dismissed.

On the list, we found Jim Montgomery (who was dismissed yesterday), but unfortunately, Patrick Roy’s name is also there…

Let’s just hope the Islanders can start winning again. That’s really the important thing right now for the legendary number 33.

The New York Islanders are currently 9th place in the East, tied with the Boston Bruins.

A story to follow… Go Patrick Roy!
