The National Basketball Association is one of the best-paid sports leagues in the world, with an average player salary of over $12 million in the 2023-24 season. The NBA’s minimum salary last season was $1.16 million. Still, all the NBA players’ salaries combined are less than what the OnlyFans content creators’ made in the previous year.
OnlyFans is a content subscription service that primarily offers adult-friendly content. Many athletes from various sports have transitioned to the platform and are witnessing greater financial success than in their previous professions.
According to Variety, gross payments made through the OnlyFans platform until November 30, 2023, were $6.63 billion last year. On the other hand, the combined salaries of the NBA players last year were around $4.9 billion, which is $1.7 billion less than the combined income of the OnlyFans content creators.
NBA Fans React To The Salary Difference Between NBA And OnlyFans
After a post went viral on social media comparing the combined salaries of NBA players with OnlyFans creators, fans gave hilarious reactions. Some defended the basketball league by mentioning the difference between the number of players and content creators.
Other fans ridiculed the subscription-based content-sharing platform, and some displayed their humor in the comment section.
Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry was the highest earner last season in the NBA, with an annual salary of $51.9 million. The four-time NBA champion will lead the league as the highest earner in the upcoming season with a $55.8 million salary. On the other hand, Jayson Tatum signed a record-setting, supermax five-year contract extension with the Boston Celtics for $314 million after winning the championship.
