Lakers Start Planning for First Game With LeBron and Bronny James
During a press conference, the 35-year-old reflected on his experiences with the Lakers and Clippers. He felt that both of his former teams failed to fully utilize his strengths.
“To be honest, (my skill-set) was unique; they just didn’t put me in a position to be unique. I was in a position where I was playing, not my position,” Westbrook said.
“Being able to be here and coach Malone allowing me to be able to use my speed use my transition skills to make other guys better. It makes the game for everyone else around me, and that’s what I love to do best,” he added.
Russell Westbrook Ready to Bring His Intensity to the Denver Nuggets
Russell Westbrook is gearing up for a strong season with the Denver Nuggets, and his excitement for the upcoming year was clear during the team’s media day. Westbrook He made it clear that his focus is all about winning when he’s playing.
“I think people confuse intensity with competitiveness. When I compete, when I’m on the floor, I don’t want to be walking around shaking hands and kissing babies; I don’t really want to do that. I’m there to excuse my language, but kick some a-,” Westbrook said.
Westbrook’s determination will be tested early. The Nuggets will face the defending champions, the Boston Celtics, in the pre-season opener on October 4.
