Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has established an incredible legacy that inspires many players. Beyond his successful basketball career, he has also ventured into the entertainment business. He recently appeared in the Netflix series Starting 5 and produced another basketball-related series for Netflix called Rez Ball.
However, he may face challenges in producing this series, as a filmmaker has claimed that Netflix, along with James and his production company, stole some of his scripts to incorporate scenes into “Rez Ball.”
Recent reports from TMZ Sports indicate that Rob Grabow has detailed his allegations against James in a comprehensive 25-page lawsuit. He filed the lawsuit on Thursday in a federal court in California.
“There are numerous substantially and strikingly similar concrete and expressive elements in the two works’ plot, theme, dialogue, mood, setting, pace, characters and sequence of events.” Grabow wrote in the suit.
Grabow, a screenwriter known for directing the 2023 drama “The Year of the Dog,” stated that he wrote the script for “The Gift of the Game.” He alleges that scenes from his script were copied in the Netflix series “Rezz Ball,” produced by James.
LeBron James Shares His Plans For Retirement
James is currently the oldest active player in the league, now in his 22nd NBA season. Despite his age, he continues to dominate with impressive performances. The Lakers have managed a three-game winning streak in the regular season, with the 39-year-old recording a triple-double in three straight games.
However, given his age, many fans, players, and analysts are speculating about his retirement. To address these concerns, the four-time NBA champion has shared insights about his retirement plans.
“I don’t know, I’m not gonna play that much longer, to be completely honest. I don’t know how many years that is, if it’s one year, two years, whatever the case may be.” James said in a recent interview.
ESPN’s Shams Charania also offered a potential retirement timeline for the Lakers superstar. James has achieved an impressive range of accomplishments, establishing his legacy as one of the greatest players in the NBA’s history.
