Last night on TVA Sports, during the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Columbus Blue Jackets, Renaud Lavoie had some updates to share.

Many observers are hoping Kent Hughes will make a move to strengthen the lineup, but reinforcements might naturally be on their way from within the organization.

Renaud Lavoie announces that help is coming to Montreal!

Here’s an excerpt of what he said:

«Help is on the way. Unfortunately, David Savard had to step away due to an upper-body injury. It’s surprising because he was at practice and even spoke to the media.

But again, yesterday in Brossard, we saw two players on the ice.

Of course, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard was one of them.

In his case, we’re expecting him back in the lineup in the coming days. The question, which hasn’t been decided yet, is whether he’ll return in Laval or with the Canadiens..

That decision will be made in the next few days. Sending him to Laval for a few games this week is a possibility.

As for Patrik Laine! He’s obviously the star player everyone is eager to see fully healthy in the Canadiens lineup during the regular season, and he’s making progress too!

Things are going well, but what we want to see now is him returning to practice with his teammates.

Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later!»

These are developments to keep an eye on. It feels like Patrik Laine’s return to action is relatively imminent. He could begin practicing with his teammates as early as this week, with a game return this month looking very possible.

That would certainly be a major boost for Martin St. Louis and his squad.
