We’re witnessing a rare scene today, live from Brossard with the Montreal Canadiens, and it’s certainly worth mentioning.

In recent hours, the organization announced that today’s practice would take place at 10:30 a.m., as usual, without any special mention.

However, it quickly became clear that today would be quite different for the Habs players.

It’s very rare to see this, but in the end, the on-ice sessions began at 9 a.m. this morning and will last several hours! Clearly, the management is taking major steps to help the players improve.

Special sessions this morning, live from Brossard, with the Montreal Canadiens

It started right at 9 a.m. when Justin Barron, Lane Hutson, Arber Xhekaj, and Jayden Struble took to the ice with none other than Adam Nicholas, the Canadiens’ director of hockey development.

They worked hard to address aspects of defensive coverage.

But that’s not all. There was another session!

«Next session: Marc Bureau and Adam Nicholas are on the ice with all the centers at the moment.» – Eric Engels

All of this, in addition to the day’s long «regular» practice session.

In any case, you can’t say the Canadiens management isn’t doing anything internally to help the young players improve.

Extra individual clinics like this are rare in the NHL during the regular season, but it can only be a positive move.
