Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham is one of those players who took full advantage of more eyes on the WNBA than ever before, and she has built quite the following as a result.
Cunningham may be in the offseason, but she’s still capturing the attention of fans.
Known for her fiery presence on the court, she has quite a bit of eyes on her when she shows up to games, rocking her fashion sense.
Recently, Sophie Cunningham switched up her style and traded in her pregame dresses for a cowgirl look, and she absolutely killed it.
She took to her Instagram and posted a carousel of pictures.
One snap had her in an all-leather look as she held the rope in her left hand and had a horse next to her as she looked down with a cowgirl hat on.
The next picture had Cunningham with a white lingerie piece on as she posed while petting a horse.
The third picture the Mercury guard posted showed her sitting near a fence and sporting all-denim clothing, with just a bra underneath her denim long-sleeved jacket.
In her all-leather outfit, Sophie Cunningham would mount a horse for a gorgeous snap.
The final picture was mesmerizing. She was back in her white lingerie set and posing just beyond the horse that had taken center stage.
Sophie Cunningham Expressed Desire to Play With Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark was the rave in 2024, and players around the league got a firsthand look at her talent.
After a 2024 season that underwhelmed considering their talented roster, the Phoenix Mercury could be on the way to some down years as Diana Taurasi could be retiring, and longtime franchise great Brittney Griner is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Sophie Cunningham is surely to be back.
However, the 28-year-old University of Missouri product might not be for long as she will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season.
Her comments last month seem to indicate she wants to go to Indiana.
“I think she’s handling the pressure very well. I think she’s doing a lot of great things for women’s basketball, and I’m a fan. Like I would love to play with her one day, for real,” Cunningham said of playing alongside Caitlin Clark.
She averaged 8.4 points per game this season after averaging 12.6 and 11.3 points per game in 2022 and 2023.
