Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine is currently holding a press conference live from Mont-Tremblant.

He has indeed joined his teammates there, which is great news, and he’s now answering questions from the journalists.

He also seems to be in great spirits.

He notably mentioned that he doesn’t blame Cédric Paré for what happened last Saturday at the Bell Centre.

«Patrik Laine says he doesn’t blame Paré for his injury; he says he put himself in a bad position from the start. Laine says Paré texted him afterward, and he respects him for that.»

“I fundamentally believe that no one plays to hurt anyone” – Patrik Laine on Cédric Paré’s gesture

«It’s fun to be with my Canadiens teammates. Obviously, I’d rather be on the ice, but I avoided a disaster with my knee. It could have been much worse. I’m still not happy about my injury, but that’s how it is. I’m just trying to stay positive, but we’ll be back, we’ll be back»

Of course, Laine isn’t happy about being seriously injured and missing several weeks of action, but like all of us, he realizes that it could have been much worse under the circumstances.

He is determined to stay with his teammates, and clearly, he is determined to attend all of their practices. He’s going to follow Martin St-Louis’ instructions and try to progress as much as possible, even from the sidelines.

That’s absolutely the right attitude to have.
