Since Sunday evening, there has been a lot of discussion on social media following Georges Laraque’s post announcing an upcoming scoop about the Canadiens.
For those unaware, Laraque recently posted a message stating he has “very interesting news about the Montreal Canadiens” and that he will reveal it today at noon on BPM Sports.
Understandably, this sparked the curiosity of many fans who are eagerly trying to guess what this scoop might be.
Our Prediction of Georges Laraque’s Scoop
After reading extensively, researching, and considering comments from those who already know the scoop, here’s our prediction.
First, I don’t think it’s about a trade, because insiders like Elliotte Friedman and Pierre LeBrun would have also reported it, and, especially, because Laraque couldn’t afford to wait so long to reveal his scoop.
Secondly, I looked for possible connections to BPM Sports.
Clearly, this exclusive news announcement will be very beneficial for the radio station, so I immediately searched for potential ties to its collaborators.
Could a collaborator give BPM Sports a little boost, perhaps?
Anyway, I decided to join the game, so here’s my prediction.
I think the Montreal Canadiens will announce the hiring of Bob Hartley as an official consultant to head coach Martin St-Louis, much like the Ottawa Senators did with Jacques Martin.
This aligns with what those in the know have mentioned: it’s news that will greatly please Canadiens fans.
It’s also in line with what the guys at HFTV mentioned:
Let’s remember that Pat Denis, who spoke to Georges Laraque by phone and is aware of the news, mentioned that it’s «big» news and very positive for Habs fans.
Knowing it’s big, but not big enough to interest Elliotte Friedman and company, and knowing that Habs fans will be extremely pleased with the news, this is my prediction.
Bob Hartley as a consultant to Martin St-Louis, or hired in a support role within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
