After another extremely tough start for goaltender Cayden Primeau, I sincerely believe Kent Hughes will need to make a move.

I think it’s time to place Cayden Primeau on NHL waivers and bring in another goaltender as reinforcement.

This works out well, as there’s currently an interesting goaltender available on waivers.

Let’s claim Kaapo Kahkonen and place Cayden Primeau on NHL waivers!

This isn’t really against Primeau, but he’s clearly not up to par this season. His stats this season are terrible, and even looking at his career as a whole, with a 0.890 save percentage and a goals-against average of 3.58, you can’t say that’s enough to «stay in the mix.»

We’re talking about a sample of 50 games!

And what about you? Do you think the Montreal Canadiens should place Cayden Primeau on waivers? Personally, that’s what I would do, just as Marc-Olivier Beaudoin suggests.

I’d really like to see a Connor Hughes or a Jakub Dobes get a chance, but if not, there’s also Kaapo Kahkonen, who’s available for free right now (until tomorrow PM).

If it were your decision, what would you do?

Kahkonen, age 28, is a 6-foot-2, 217-pound goaltender. In his NHL career, across 140 games, he has a save percentage close to 0.900 with a record of 49-68-15.

This will definitely be a story to follow closely in the coming hours, but I don’t think we’ll see Primeau in the Montreal Canadiens net anytime soon.
